You say tomato, I say tomato

LState of Chiapas
Cascadas de Chiflon or Cascadas Velo de Novio

In this case it depends on which side of the river you choose.
Left  bank it's the Velo de Novio.
Right bank is the Cascadas de Chiflon.

And they are controlled by two separate organizations.

It all has to do with Mexicos ejido system which goes back a hundred or so years.
Ejidos are a noble attempt at community socialism but some kinks do pop up.

Like when two different ejidos lay claim on a single tourist attraction in the form of a few waterfalls and half a mile of riverfront no more than 10'feet deep and 100 feet wide.
The obvious thing is to give each ejido a side and let them run them separately.
Separate physical entrances, parking lots, and of course, separate entrance fees.

Truth is both sides are wonderful, $2.00 gets a person in both sides and the views are great and the swimming is fantastic.  The photos come from both sides.
We stayed at a cabin on the left bank...... Just like Paris.
